Alpha GPC is a specialized amino acid compound that has been shown to increase the secretion of HGH by changing the receptivity of the cellular membrane of the somatotropic cells of the anterior pituitary. It enhances the effects of not only HGH but every other hormone produced by the anterior pituitary, which include ACTH, the hormone that stimulates the adrenal glands, FSH and LH, hormones that stimulate sex hormone production, and TSH, the hormone that stimulates the thyroid.
Alpha GPC also enhances the synthesis of an important substance called phosphatidyl choline, which is an essential component of the cellular membrane of every cell in the body. Choline is also the building clock of acetylcholine, which is one of the major neurotransmitters in the body. The synthesis of acetycholine can be seriously affected as choline levels decline in the body. Choline levels decline as stress levels begin to rise and as we age.
One of the causes of decreasing HGH levels in the elderly is a decrease in the secretion of GHRH from the hypothalamus and a decrease in GHRH receptivity by the somatotropic cellular membranes. Alpha GPC boosts HGH secretion in the elderly by increasing GHRH output, decreasing somatostatin and by changing the cellular membranes of somatotropic cells thus increasing GHRH receptivity in the pituitary and increasing HGH secretion.
Physiological benefits of Alpha GPC:
1. Alpha GPC increases the secretion of HGH by the anterior pituitary and Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone by the Hypothalamus.
2. Alpha GPC contributes directly to improved mental focus, cognitive function, and memory.
3. Alpha GPC facilitates the development of more strength from workouts and training.
4. Alpha GPC has been shown to prevent and possibly eliminate fatty liver.
5. It also helps lower homocysteine levels in the body, which is associated with the increased risk of heart disease and Alzhemier’s disease.
