SAIZEN® and its auto-injecting device

SAIZEN® is an injectable Human Growth Hormones, consisting Somatropin, a biosynthetic human growth hormone produced from mammary cells through genetic engineering. It contains 191 amino acids in identical sequence to the natural hormone produced by the pituitary gland. SAIZEN® promotes an increase in the average growth rhythm by somotomedins or by growth factors similar to insulin.
SAIZEN® is administered subcutaneously using the “One-Click”® self-injecting device and preferably at night. The dosage and method of administering SAIZEN® will vary according to each patient.
This product uses an advanced method of auto-injection using one.click hgh auto-injector. The device inserts the needle automatically and accurately to the desired depth in the fatty tissue under the skin and administers a pre-selected dose of Saizen with just one click.
Method of injection:
To install or change the cartridge:
First, unlock and remove the blue activation cap. Then unscrew the cartridge cover and then the cartridge holder.
Next remove the empty cartridge from the cartridge holder, if any and insert a new cartridge containing the constituted Saizen into the clean cartridge holder.
Then screw the cartridge holder with the cartridge back onto the one.click main body and turn it until the disc on the plunger rod is against the cartridge.
Screw the cartridge cover back onto the one.click main body until it cannot be turned further.
Then turn the depth adjuster to the position recommended by your doctor.
Now, you are ready to inject:
Take a new needle and remove the protective sterility seal. Then, screw the needle onto the cartridge holder and remove the outer needle cover.
Place the colour end of the blue activation cap on a flat, non-slippery surface. Grip the one.click on the cartridge cover and press down until a click is heard.
Then remove the blue activation cap which will automatically remove the inner needle shield. Press the blue activation cap down on the table, and the inner needle shield pops out.
Turn the green dose dial slowly until the required dose appears in the dose indicator window. When setting the dose, each click represents 20ul. The minimum dose for injection is 1 click, which is equivalent to 20ul or 0.12mg of Saizen. The maximum dose is 29 clicks, which is equivalent to 580ul or 3.38mg of Saizen.
Choose the injection site and holding the one.click directly (right angle) against the skin, press the yellow one.click button for the injection to start. Keep the one.click for approximately 10 seconds in this position until the injection is completed. The green dose dial rewinds to zero.
Withdraw the one.click from the skin. After injection, if a drop of blood appears, simply press for a few seconds with the medical wipe.
Discard the needle and push and screw the blue activation cap back into the cartridge cover. Place your one.click with cartridge containing the remaining reconstituted solution of Saizen in its storage box and immediately place the box back into the refrigerator (not into the freezer).
There may be reactions due to hypersensitivity (such as redness and itchiness in the area of the injection site, formation of antibodies with or without the attenuating effect of growth, or both). Treatment must be carried out under strict periodic medical supervision. Also administering SAIZEN® subcutaneously in the same site over a prolonged period of time may cause lipoatrophy. Changing the injection site each time can prevent this.
