We know by now that Human Growth Hormones are very essential for growth, healing, immune system and various other functions of our body and its deficiency can lead to various health problems, but we have not discussed as yet the effect of too much Human Growth Hormones in our body.
Excess of anything is bad and the same applies to human growth hormones as well. Bodybuilders often use HGH for its synergistic effect with testosterone and also for its muscle building and fat loss properties. That is why many pro-bodybuilders and athletes use it in combination with their steroid cycle regimen, but HGH abuse does occur in the cases of bodybuilders taking supraphysiological doses for cycles, like they do with steroids.
Too much growth hormone in children (before growth plates in the skeleton have closed) causes gigantism, which is characterized by tall stature. Because the growth plates have closed in adults, too much growth hormone does not cause one to grow taller. Instead, the condition is characterized by enlarged hands and feet, coarse facial features and growth of “skin tags”. In adults, the condition of excess growth hormone is called acromegaly. Excess growth hormone may also cause diabetes, result in the formation of polyps (precursors of tumors) in the large intestine and increase heart size. All these undesirable effects of excess growth hormone contribute to the increased mortality in acromegaly. This disease, caused by too much HGH in the body, leads to the overgrowth of the bones and connective tissue causing a protruding jaw and eyebrows.
That is the reason why it is always recommended that human growth hormones should be taken under the supervision and guidance of a physician.
