TRT - Risk versus benefit
Guide, HgH, News, Review, Tips
When contemplating the use of testosterone replacement, the possible risks as well as benefits must be considered. Although, many men experience positive impact of testosterone both on their prostate and their genitourinary problems, some men have reported adverse side effects. These include atrophying of the testicles with prolonged use; a high red blood cell count; depression; fluid retention; reduced sperm count and volume of semen; and a reduction in HDL cholesterol levels.
Testosterone supplementation can produce dangerous side effects if administered to men with normal levels. In fact, extra doses will inhibit your own natural production and may contribute to stimulating the growth of pre-existing prostate tumors.
The major concern about testosterone may be its potential to stimulate and/ or accelerate the growth of benign or malignant prostate tumors. The popular hypothesis is that the buildup of testosterone in the form of DHT within the prostate is potentially dangerous. Some studies have indicated an increase in DHT in the prostate cells of men with BHP, compared with normal prostates of men the same age. But generally, both testosterone and DHT levels decrease with age.
Thus, it can be concluded that while the use of testosterone replacement for those with naturally occurring low levels of the hormone in their system is not without controversy, testosterone offers a powerful anti-aging tool to millions of men.
